Las Vegas, NV – Passenger Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries in Left-Turn Collision at E. Lake Mead Blvd & N. Lamb Blvd

Las Vegas, NV (April 21, 2025) – A two-vehicle collision resulted in life-threatening injuries to a passenger on Saturday afternoon, April 19, 2025, at the intersection of E. Lake Mead Boulevard and N. Lamb Boulevard in Las Vegas. The crash occurred at approximately 4:27 p.m. and involved two passenger vehicles traveling in opposite directions on E. Lake Mead Boulevard.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado was heading east in a left-turn lane approaching N. Lamb Boulevard when it turned into the path of a westbound 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLK 250. The front of the Silverado struck the front of the Mercedes-Benz. Medical personnel transported both drivers and all three passengers of the Mercedes-Benz to University Medical Center’s Trauma Unit. Both drivers and two passengers were treated for minor injuries and released; a third passenger of the Mercedes-Benz sustained life-threatening injuries and was admitted to the hospital. LVMPD confirmed driver impairment was not a factor. The collision remains under investigation by the department’s Collision Investigation Section.

Our thoughts are with the injured passenger and his family during what is undoubtedly a difficult time. We hope for a full recovery.

Left-Turn Collisions in Nevada — What Victims Should Know

Left-turn accidents are among the most dangerous intersection crashes in Nevada, and for good reason. Under NRS 484B.400, drivers making a left turn must yield to oncoming traffic — a rule frequently violated in high-traffic corridors like E. Lake Mead Boulevard. When that duty is breached, the consequences can be catastrophic, as this crash illustrates.

If you or a loved one has been injured in a similar collision, the steps you take immediately afterward can significantly affect your legal options. Seek medical attention right away, even if injuries seem minor at first — internal trauma and soft tissue damage often emerge hours or days later, and a medical record tied to the date of the crash protects your claim. Document the scene if you are able: photos, witness contact information, and dashcam footage are all valuable. Critically, avoid giving recorded statements to insurance adjusters before speaking with an attorney. Insurers often reach out quickly after serious crashes, and early statements can be used to minimize your compensation.

Nevada follows a modified comparative negligence rule, meaning your ability to recover damages can be reduced — or eliminated — if you are found more than 50% at fault. In multi-occupant vehicle crashes involving serious injury, liability and insurance coverage questions become complex quickly. An experienced personal injury attorney can help identify all liable parties, gather evidence before it disappears, and negotiate with insurers who will otherwise move to settle for as little as possible.
